The South Pacific consists of six flight information regions (FIRs), operated by four key air navigation service providers (ANSPs). Within this group, we are committed to working closely and collaboratively with our state partners to achieve the International Civil Aviation Organization's vision of strong industry partnerships in the South Pacific region.
Experienced in the Pacific
We have worked with aviation regulators and operators in the South Pacific for many years. Our experience spans from Papua New Guinea to French Polynesia, and encompasses most of the islands in between.
Enroute air traffic control services across the Auckland Oceanic FIR are provided from our New Zealand based Oceanic Control System. Geographically this includes Tonga, Samoa and the Cook Islands.
Supporting the growth of Pacific aviation
We understand the need and the benefits of supporting aviation development in the region. We work closely with funding and industry bodies such as the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, the Pacific Aviation Safety Office (PASO), and the Association of South Pacific Airlines (ASPA), to assist the region through this period of aviation growth.
