Mr Cusack replaces long standing Airways board director Terry Murdoch, who has stepped down after eight years.
Announcing the appointment, Airways Board Chair Judy Kirk says Mr Cusack’s 30 years’ experience in senior leadership roles across the aviation and transport sectors make him an ideal fit. Currently Mr Cusack is Director of the World Bank-funded Pacific Aviation Investment Program.
He has previously held executive roles within airport, air traffic and airline organisations throughout New Zealand and the Pacific.
“We look forward to working with Darin and harnessing his extensive operational and leadership experience as we work through a period of considerable technological development and growth,” Ms Kirk says.
“On behalf of the board and all of Airways, I would like to thank Terry for his contribution since 2009,” she says.
Ends.
