Airways New Zealand announced today that it will waive service fees for flights participating in the Kaikoura earthquake relief effort.
“It’s heartening to see how the aviation community has come together to support the relief activities,” Airways Chief Operating Officer Pauline Lamb says.
"We know that aircraft owners and pilots from Christchurch in particular have donated time and resources to assist with evacuations and deliver supplies. These operators are to be commended for the important contribution they are making."
Airways has also seconded four of its personnel to Kaikoura to provide a radio service on behalf of the Defence Force for the temporary restricted airspace in place to support safe aircraft operations.
Operators who wish to arrange a fee waiver for their Kaikoura relief flights are asked to contact Airways by emailing custacct@airways.co.nz.
