GroupEAD, the European aeronautical information management (AIM) expert, and Airways New Zealand have today announced an agreement to form GroupEAD Asia-Pacific Ltd.
The company will be a joint venture business delivering next-generation AIM services to the Asia Pacific region. The new business will be headquartered in Wellington, New Zealand’s capital city, and is expected to formally commence operations early in 2014.
In an important development for the GroupEAD global brand, the new GroupEAD Asia-Pacific business will include Airways NZ’s AIM staff, as well as procedure design services currently provided within New Zealand and to many countries in the Pacific region.
New services will be developed which leverage the capabilities of both joint venture organisations.
At the signing of the agreement in Frankfurt Heinz-Michael Kraft, CEO of GroupEAD said “12 years after the establishment of GroupEAD, and following 10 years of successful operation of the European Aeronautical Database, this partnership with Airways New Zealand represents an important next step for GroupEAD and the opportunity to take GroupEAD’s product and services to a wider audience in the fast-growing Asia-Pacific region.”
Ed Sims, CEO of Airways New Zealand, said “Airways has a long and proud tradition of delivering services to many parts of the world and we are delighted to be teamed with GroupEAD to create a global brand with a consistent, high quality service offering.
